Drs. Cory and Jennifer Chambers of Cobblestone Park Family Dental understand that some people are afraid of the dentist and avoid getting the dental care they need because of those fears. A lack of proper dental care can cause dental problems to develop and worsen over time. Some people feel as though their teeth are in such bad shape that they are too ashamed to visit the dentist.
Our dentists want to assure everyone reading this post that no smile is ever beyond repair. Our team is devoted to providing gentle and compassionate care in an environment completely free of judgment. We offer a wide range of general, restorative and cosmetic dental services to restore health and beauty to every smile.
How We Repair Damaged, Decayed or Missing Teeth
Cracked or chipped teeth: A great solution to cracked or chipped teeth is to place a dental crown. Crowns recreate the entire exterior of a natural, healthy tooth. They also protect the tooth from suffering further damage.
Cavities: Teeth that have developed cavities can be restored with fillings. The decayed tooth structure is first removed and then the cavity is filled with a metal or tooth-colored material.
Significantly worn teeth: Small, worn down teeth can be repaired with a variety of solutions. Sometimes composite resin dental bonding material can be used to build up the size and length of the teeth; the composite resin can also protect the natural teeth from sensitivity caused by the wearing down of the tooth enamel.
Missing teeth: Two of the most popular ways to replace missing teeth are dental bridges and dental implants. Placing a bridge involves crowning the teeth on either side of the gap and placing a false tooth in the gap. Dental implants recreate the entire structure of a tooth, including its root. In cases of multiple missing teeth, partial or complete dentures are a great option, and can be anchored to dental implant posts for added support and strength.
Stained or discolored teeth: Teeth whitening can break up noticeable tooth stains with the application of a powerful bleaching agent. Teeth that do not respond to whitening treatment can be covered with porcelain veneers to create a brighter smile.
Crooked teeth: Crooked teeth can be fixed with the placement of traditional metal braces or Invisalign “invisible braces.” Invisalign treatment involves wearing a series of clear plastic aligners that gradually shift the teeth into the correct position and alignment.
